Methods

To address the scientific questions we are concerned with we mainly employ cellular immunological techniques as well as cell culture and animal models of human diseases:

-       lymphocyte separation using magnetic or flow cytometric sorting

-       cell culture of primary lymphocytes isolated from humans, mice or pigs

-       multi-color flow cytometry

-       cytotoxicity tests

-       histology and immunohistochemistry

-       generation of monoclonal antibodies with the hybridoma method

-      disease models: acute myocardial infarction, systemic infections with Candida albicans, Measles virus infection of the brain
