Arrival by Plane
Würzburg is located within 1.5 hr of three major airports:
The closest airport is Frankfurt-Main International: A high-speed ICE train can be taken from terminal 1 at Frankfurt airport (Flughafen Fernbahnhof) directly to Würzburg (Würzburg Hbf). The train leaves Frankfurt Airport about every hour and tickets can be purchased in advance online: http://www.bahn.de/i/view/USA/en/index.shtml
From Nürnberg airport: Please take the U2 underground train to the main train station Nürnberg Hbf- then an ICE train from Nürnberg Hbf to Würzburg Hbf.
From Stuttgart airport: Please take a train connection from Stuttgart Flughafen Echterdingen to Würzburg Hbf.
Arrival by Train
Würzburg is centrally located in Germany and easily accessible by train. Tickets can be booked on the Deutsche Bahn website by selecting Würzburg Hbf as the destination (http://www.bahn.de/i/view/USA/en/index.shtml).
From the train station the Institute of Molecular Infection Biology can be reached using tramline 1 or 5 in the direction "Grombühl" to the station "Würzburg Uni-Klinik, Bereich D".
